THE POWER OF PERSEPHONE AND THE FOUR FORCES OF THE GREEK DIVINE FEMININE: Ancient wisdom for the autumn threshold… or any life crossroads. We are expanding our Persephone workshop into The Tetraktys of the Soul: an integrated four-step journey through the wisdom of Gaia, Demeter, Hekate-Persephone, and Panagia. Together, we’ll explore the myth, history, and practice of these archetypes, giving us the strength and gnosis to cross our own thresholds, shed old skins, and face an uncertain future with firm boundaries and grace.
THE VISUAL LANGUAGE OF SYMBOLS, MOTIFS, AND WHAT THEY TELL US ABOUT WOMEN'S LIVES: We'll explore the rich world of Greek folk motifs. We will look at stories about the women who created them and explore their beliefs and values encoded within them. Through images, stories, and discussion, participants will learn to see these traditional designs not just as decoration, but as a visual language that has carried meaning and symbolism across generations.
OUR MUSES: THE WOMEN OF GREEK MYTHOLOGY: We’ll revisit several female figures from Greek mythology and explore what emerges when we examine how they have been interpreted and shaped over time. What qualities have been forgotten, diminished, or made more palatable? What can we discover when we encounter these women through a modern lens? And most importantly, how can they inspire the mythic tales of our own lives?
PRACTICAL MAGIC VIA MEDITERRANEAN HERBS & YIAYIA'S REMEDIES: We've gone deep, delving into myth, history, goddesses, and symbols. Now, we get practical. This workshop explores Greek herbs and folk remedies. We'll also discuss the mythology and etymology behind some herbs, as well as connections to feast days and saints.
INTEGRATION & DISCUSSION CIRCLE: This time around, we're dedicating an entire session to integrating and connecting. We'll open with a grounding, protection-inspired meditation before breaking out into a discussion and online sharing circle to ritually close our time together.
OPTIONAL 1:1 add-on with Kristina. Additional inclusions: journal prompts, an optional reading list (books and virtual articles), and community connection to likeminded folks.

Join us for a mystical, transformative course: Ancient Greek Mystery School, Rizes Edition. Here, Hellenic folklore, mysticism, philosophy, and spirituality come together. This course is perfect for the curious-minded - and also for those who are a bit spiritual (even if your spirituality is in the closet, per se).
Because we believe you can discuss Epicurus beyond an out-of-context Instagram post, and be a little woo-woo. We're calling this Rizes Edition, aka roots, as we return to our roots to explore more history, myth, and symbolism.
In addition to 4 weeks of live video classes, you'll receive a weekly email with key takeaways and journal prompts. Our 5th meeting is more of a closing and integration circle: think nonjudgmental discussion and a shared experience for the Winter Equinox as we cross that threshold together. There is also an option to book an added 1:1 call to work with Kristina on a deeper level.
All classes are recorded if you can't make it live. Recordings will be available for 3 months post-course!

Meet Kristina, founder of Yia Mas. This body of work marries Kristina's Greek upbringing with her ongoing research on Greek philosophy, dance, design, and culture. Her curiosity and appreciation for self-inquiry inspire her to share Greek folk remedies and ancient traditions and promote Greece beyond the usual diaspora narrative.
Kristina holds a degree in history from the University of Virginia. She has extensive experience in yoga and meditation (200-hour RYT, 100-hour meditation teacher training with Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Science, Katonah Yoga Certified). Her work and research bridge the gap between our increasingly digital realities and tactile experiences.
